Isbell's excellent 2025 set illuminate the sad-faced country
tunes and bluesy ballads that rarely popped up during his time
with Drive-By Truckers. Fuelled by his recent divorce to fellow
musician Amanda Shires, this one is the man alone, just voice
and his 1940 Martin 0-17 acoustic guitar. It's a sign of his
songcraft that he keeps it completely compelling throughout.
