Husker Du - New Day Rising LP

1985 LP from this fearsome Minneapolis trio who redefined what hardcore punk could be about in the 1980s. Hot on the heels of their groundbreaking double set from 1984, Zen Arcade, Bob, Grant and Greg entered the studios once more with SST's house engineer dude, Spot, and cranked out New Day Rising in a matter of days. It's got some of their absolute best tracks - the title track, 'Girl Who Lives On Heaven Hill' - and would see them rise to the top of the indie heap. Corporate vultures were circling the wagon, of course, but at this stage of the game, Husker Du were unbeatable.
