David Axelrod - Heavy Axe LP

This man helmed dozens of funky records during the 1960s and '70s and created his own baroque sound, and he always kept a funky edge to his drums and sat them nicely in the mix. This 1974 instrumental album features some groovy soul, funk and jazz tunes, with a mix of Axelrod originals alongside swinging covers of Stevie Wonder and others.
