Archie Shepp - Fire Music LP

This 1965 album from Shepp, one of his early ones, shows 
that the free jazz great was already focussed on the direction
he wanted to take music in, even from a young age. Moving 
beyond hard bop and well into the realms of the avant garde,
the tenor sax player fills the tunes with themes of social
justice and African ceremony, as he broadens the sphere
of jazz.
