Laughing Gear - Freak Lemons LP

Fantastic local debut on the Heavy Machinery label from this duo which features members of Chrome Dome, Brando's Island, Romero, etc. Laughing Gear's sound is definitely more in the vein of Chrome Dome than their other previous outfits: pounding synth-punk with aggro, desperate vocals that bring to mind early Cabaret Voltaire, Severed Heads and other minimal-synth pioneers. There's also some wonderful fuzzed guitars in parts, and seriously, this is a GREAT execution of all of the above. Beautiful gatefold sleeve rounds out an excellent package. Only 300 made - grab it!!
