Hydroplane were a Melbourne indie band from the late '90s, essentially
an alias for the band, The Cat's Miaow, who had a much bigger following
overseas than here. Their sound was a mix of ramshackle pop a la The
Cannanes meets shoegaze meets trip-hop beats. You could probably
compare them to Broadcast or Boards Of Canada, but there's a distinctly
Australian bent to their sound. This is their ace debut from 1997.
