The second album from Palace Brothers from 1994 is a
one-mic strum & croon affair that exerts a fantastically strong
emotional undertow on tracks like "Whither Thou Goest" and
"Pushkin." Will Oldham can't really sing, his guitar chops are
pretty ropey and there's a lot of repetition in the lyrics. Yet this
is so damn compelling. Truly trance-inducing music!
