MJ Lenderman - Manning Fireworks LP

Much-praised 2024 solo disc from this US singer-songwriter who also plays in the indie-rock band, Wednesday. Heavily influenced by Jason Molina and various alt-country types, he gives the lapsteel and violin a good workout here, and this has a genuinely rustic, downhome feel, his croaky voice working with the material perfectly. Great!
