Asha Puthli - Asha Puthli LP

Indian-born vocalist Asha Puthli was well-known in her native India before she moved to New York and made a splash in the jazz world in the early seventies. Her great eponymous 1973 set features songs by JJ Cale, Bill Withers and a couple of the Beatles, all set to a wild mix of electric, funky grooves and mystic spaceship R&B. Gold we tells ya.
