Gary Numan finds a mini-Moog synth in the studio and takes his
icy electro-punk to a new level, replacing guitar solos with keyboards
to great effect. Quite different to his later material, his music still had
a lot of guitars in it with his 1978 debut, sounding like a crunching
mix of pre-Joy Division Warsaw, Chrome and Berlin-period Bowie.
