2026 sees a brilliant collaboration between Radwan (of Jerusalem In My Heart) and Frederic
(Oiseaux-Tempete) to show deep love to the music of the Middle East, on the fabled Constellation label from Canada. Filtered
vocals drift over droning sax, and an array of Arabic sounds from drums,
rababa, and buzuk, among others, combine to create a hazy blanket of waves
and textures underneath, as sparse flutters of electronics bubble up intermittently.
Deep gravitas and emotion abound on these tunes, and it's hard to not
associate them with world problems. And perhaps that is the point.
