The Black Crow King has often leaned into religious themes with his music, but never so heavily as on this record with Warren Ellis, which features seven psalms/poems of a canonical nature underpinned with majestic, yet understated washes of sound. The b-side contains the instrumental version which sounds ominous and haunting on its own.
