Originally released on SST in 1989, Monsters was the last release
for the band on the label, its recording fraught with drama. Its release
divided many fans, but for my two cents it's absolutely one of their
best recordings. With a BIG sound and cleaner production, the band
at times sounds like a more psychedelic Black Sabbath, and tracks
such as 'Touchdown King, 'Like Being Alive' and 'The Void' are some
of their best ever tunes. An essential piece of the band's discography.
