Originally released in the early 21st century, this little sound machine
is the brainchild of two artists living in China. Taking a machine that
prays for you at shrines when you can't be there, the artists added
loops of ambient noise instead of prayers to carry with you
everywhere. Endorsed by Eno, Philip Glass and Throbbing Gristle,
so you know it's good!
This 2023 reissue of the original Buddha Machine 1 offers improved audio fidelity and a louder speaker, along with a two-button control layout instead of a 3-in-1 switch.
