CAYN BORTHWICK - Big City Whispers LP

Wow! This is an EXCELLENT release on the local Lost & Lonesome label, in beautiful packaging, too. Cayn is a saxophonist/multi-instrumentalist who also plays in neo-No Wavers, NO ZU, and this 2020 solo album is something special. Mixing AOR/yacht-rock melodies with minimal synth and lush ambience, it sounds like the missing link twixt ARTHUR RUSSELL, SUICIDE (esp. their second album), STEVE HIETT and a sunset lounge bar on the LA strip ca. 1975. How's that for a description? Phew! Highly recommended! Swish splattered clear/red vinyl, too.
